Combining Team-Based Skills Learning with Fun

Home Run Baseball was created in 1994 by John McCarthy on the premise that every youngster who wants to play gets their turn at bat. Our staff creates a safe and encouraging environment where each child can grow and learn the fundamentals. We group players by age not ability and make sure teams are fair. Coach Mac and his longtime Assistant Directors our on site every day.

Two competitive games a day, hundreds of quality ground balls and fly balls, as much batting practice as you want and plenty of encouragement from our coaches — Home Run Baseball Camp has it all. Our priorities are: Safety, Fun, Hustle and Fundamentals. We take walk-ins, will help you reschedule weeks and Coach Mac guarantees your satisfaction or we’ll send you a full refund- no questions asked.

Best of all, Coach Mac’s staff is made up of 95% camp alumni who return to coach the next generation. We have coaches who are current college and high school players who have the child development skills to bring the best out in their players. They’re prepared, thoughtful and responsive to each campers needs. We have only been to the emergency room once in 18 years (Coach Mac took him and he was discharged that day) and average less than 5 refund requests a year for unhappy families.

A Typical Day at Summer Camp

Camp begins with a pep talk from Coach Mac or one of the coaches on topics including sportsmanship, team play, history of the game or how to develop self confidence.

Campers will get hundreds of swings in wiffle ball batting practice, hundreds of ground balls and fly balls in ‘square drill’ and work on throwing and pitching drills. We’ll play a game, eat lunch and do it all over again in the afternoon. We make sure players get plenty of water and shade breaks on hot days. Coaches encourage players to learn new positions and make new friends at camp.

We wrap up with Coach Mac’s thoughts on how the day went and ways we can improve tomorrow.
