Friendship Park Baseball Camp

Our AU Park @ Friendship Recreation Center Flagship Camp

High-energy coaching, real game reps, and strong values—right in the heart of DC.

Friendship Park Baseball Camp

Location: Friendship Recreation Center, Washington, DC

Players ages 4-12 refine their skills through high volume repetition drills focused on technical proficiency. Our top priority is safety and we do not compromise. Our players are supervised 100% of the time.

Each day includes the National Anthem, a morning and afternoon game, genuine handshake line after a hard fought game and every piece of trash picked up. Our coed coaching staff are almost all camp alumni and many are current high school and college players who teach with clear expectations, genuine encouragement and technical guidance. And our four diamonds are the most well tended in Washington.

Rookie Program
(Ages 4–5)

Our Rookie Program is thoughtfully designed for first-time ballplayers, ages 4 and 5. It creates a fun, supportive environment where young players can learn the game, build confidence, and grow to love baseball.

The Rookie group is coed and led by some of our most experienced and enthusiastic coaches—many of whom have been with us for years.

Flexible Schedule — One Price:
Choose what works best for your family:

  • Half Day: 8:30 AM – 11:45 AM

  • Full Day: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Special Tuition: $175/week half or full day
We offer a lower tuition for the Rookie Program because we want to make it easy for families to get started—and to give baseball a try. This is where the love of the game begins.

Daily Schedule Highlights:

  • Batting practice

  • Ground ball drills

  • Throwing fundamentals

  • Hand-eye drills

  • Small-sided games (5-on-5) with lots of action

We mix in both glove and no-glove drills, using a variety of real and softer baseballs to ensure safety and skill development. Kickball is also part of the day—it’s a great way to teach baserunning and develop foot-eye coordination in a fun, familiar format.

Reading & Rest Breaks:
Each day includes a 20-minute snack and reading break in the shade, where coaches read aloud to the group—one of our most loved Rookie traditions.

Safety & Supervision:
Rookies stay with their group and coaches all day. We closely monitor hydration, sunscreen, and bathroom breaks (which happen multiple times throughout the day). While some activities take place in the sun, we prioritize shady areas whenever possible.
